Mediocre Steaks for Grandiose Prices..
Morton's is not a premiere steakhouse. Perhaps, in Jacksonville, FL people see it as a place where the "elite" may eat, but those who know better, know that the best steaks are not in Jacksonville. The service is okay, actually worse than other Morton's, even on a not-so-busy night. The steaks were cooked to the right degree, and the sides were mediocre. While, I am not complaining that the price of a steak is expensive, I am complaining that the value of these steaks are not the price that has been set. I've been to many steakhouses around the world, and Morton's is definitely "just alright". A good mix-up from the other restaurants in Jacksonville that I have eaten in. As a New Yorker, its funny to read other people's reviews for such a mediocre place. In New York the Morton's is a good chain steak restaurant, and nothing more. In Jacksonville, it is one of the most popular and well-acclaimed restaurants.

Frankly....
I tire of the wrong consumer reviewing the wrong calibre restaurant. If you do not understand a Paulliac from a St. Estephe, the do not complain about the price of wine. If you do not understand dry versus wet aged steak, then your rights to judge beef are removed: you have come to the wrong place. Either come here and open your mind to be educated in absolute quality, or chose your patronage based on your own joys in dining. Do not limit those who wish to recognize the chef's palate by your own ego, but rather taste the canvas and learn.

Editorial Review by Christy Buena.
Hearty portions of USDA prime aged beef is served along with fresh fish, lobster and dessert at the restuarant that offers healthy options.

If you like to overpay for wine and steak go here.
I expected a steak house to be just that. but this mortons wants to pretend its a 5 star dining experience, its not even close. While I dont mind Paying good prices for quality steaks, the a la carte system makes it just way to expensive for plain old steak and potatoes. The real rip off is paying 50 dollars for a 12 dollar bottle of wine. of course If your rich and you liek being ripped off, just to eat a steak on a white linen table cloth, by all means go right ahead.

Pick your server carefully.
Getting good service in this restaurant can be tricky. I always call ahead and request specific servers to wait on my party. Some of their servers are five-star quality, some shouldn't even work at a Denny's.
However, once you know who to ask for, prepare to be spoiled! Great food, great atmosphere. Wonderful special occaision restaurant. They also have boardrooms available for large private parties.

poor service.
Food was crowded and our waiter showed up at the beginning to take an order and once late in the meal (1hr later), a waitress passing by helped when we needed something and another warmed up my potatoes. Food was not all same heating. It took a long time for our dessert and then the bill.

Excellent.
My first time at Morton's was unplanned as we were out with friends and became disgusted with the poor service at the establishment across the street at which we had to make reservations (I won't mention any names). As we were leaving we saw Morton's and decided to give it a try thinking we would not be seated w/o reservations. We were seated immediately and it was the best service I have ever seen...not to mention the food was excellent.

Real Upscale Dining in Jax.
The service is unparalleled, as is the food. It's definitely not for the family on a budget, but the delicious food as well as great atmosphere make it worth every dollar. You can expect to dish out well over $100 per couple.

Loved it!.
Found Morton's to be a welcome change from Ruth Chris'...Especially enjoyed the cigar friendly bar! The Key Lime Martini is dessert in a glass! The service was top notch and our food was outstanding. Loved it so much that I took my new mother-in-law there. The mashed potato side was wonderful and my filet was sublime! Would reccomend to anyone who wnats a good steak.
