Extreme NOISE and VIOLENCE after hours.
Hey listen,
My name is Merréll Barry O'Brian, author of 665 The Council of Twelve. I understand running a business for profit. However, your rights to do so end where others' rights beginning. The monthly news magazine, "The Resident" came out with an article explaining how land owners near your business had a meeting over the NOISE and VIOLENCE caused by patrons of your club after-hours. I'm a renter, and I don't believe I've had my say. I live on San Marco Blvd and I'm posting a compliant with you to match those of land-owning residence in the immediate area.
It's not the volume of your club. I got no issues with the operation of your business during business. My issues come from your patrons who park down San Marco Blvd and RAISE UNHOLY HELL, hoopin' and hollarin' like a bunch of animals with clothes on! Let me explain first why this is important to you. Your business MUST be community-friendly in the area you have chosen to do business. You've heard from twenty land owners. I don't believe you've caught hell from the renters I will champion together to make an additional case should you not take action!
The scenario goes something like this: 2am and your club lets out. Drunk, wild, LOUD patrons of your club walk down one to two blocks from your club standing outside of their vehicles cussing, arguing and often times fighting. The party goes from your place directly to the street. Thus far, I haven't called the cops but that is NO MORE. I work from 8-4 as do the vast majority of renters in this immediate area. We, and I dare say, we all, want this crap to stop!! Tell your patrons to get in their cars and GO!! We will not put up with being awoke by this insanity any longer without causing involvement with law enforcement--and we'll take turns so it's not just me, or just my neighbor. Complaint after complaint will mount. As you can tell, I LOVE to write. I'll write 105.3 Progressive talk radio, 89.9, 107.5 and everyone one of them who'll listen. I'll write the Mayor and hell, I'll start giving writing classes for FREE to my neighbors on how to get published and our first lesson will be writing letters of protest about Square One.
Now please, handle this matter. Thank you.
Disappointed Poor customer service. I havent been to Square One for a while and I was very disappointed at how their customer service went down on the last Saturday (October 7th 2006). I was with my friends near by the dance floor (near by the band) leaning on the staircase. One waitress was rushing to deliver the order and she accidentally spilled drinks on my back and on my boyfriends jeans. She just said sorry and kept going. My whole shirt and my boyfriends jeans were totally wet. My friends were kind enough to bring us napkins and wiped off some of the drops. I was very surprised the fact the waitress never came back to apologize to us or bring some napkins. I asked the manager and explained the situation, however even after the manager talked to the waitress, she never showed up and sincerely apologized to us. The manager simply explained to us the waitress did not realize the fact our clothes got wet. I think she should know when all the glasses got empty. Our clothes were too wet to stay at bar and had to leave the place and the floor was wet and need to be wiped. I would never go back to the Square One anymore. I thought the place was very cool with good number of people and it explained to me why there were not many people any more.
Editorial Review by Emily Zietlow. Dance club with full-service bar plays rhythm and blues, boogie and disco, and houses live bands on the weekends.
lets not get carried away.
Was trying to find out what band is playing, thats the only draw here. Clean environment but attracts too many wanna be snooty folks. Pretty gay/lesbian as well with some hetero, I think review 2 was a guy.
This is a place to stop at but not really for the night, the bar is a handful of bartenders that are overtaxed by 10 pm on a weekend. The enviroment is clean and there is a sense of class to the place. I won't wander over to this place, except when a quality local band compels me to.
Thursday is the new Friday.... If you like to get a jump on the weekend by hitting the scene on Thursday night, make sure you end up at Square One. The live music gets quite a following up on the dancefloor. Thursday is also Ladies Night, with champagne for the fairer sex, while everyone enjoys beer specials. This is the spot for young professionals. A great place to strike up a conversation and meet people, or enjoy a draft or cocktail with your friends from the office.
Hip to be in the Square. Square One, or Pam's Bistro, is a fabu place to kick back, hear some live music, sip a wonderful martini (white chocolate raspberry are to die for--trust me) or a good tasting scotch, and have some yummy thai appetizers. I highly recommend it for Friday afternoon cocktails--snag a couch to sink in if you can. Drinks are pricey, for Jax anyway, but well worth it and the bartenders and waitstaff have always been quite friendly. Minimum cover charge after 8pm some weekends.
