The Scene
If you've ever wondered what it might feel like to step into a Norman Rockwell painting, this is the place for you. The bright yellow facades of the two historic houses that make up this inn couldn't be more welcoming and cheerful. There's even a white picket fence. Book ahead for stays from February through July and October through December.
The Details
The main house was built in 1904, and the guesthouse, with four more bedrooms, was built in 1880. The period architecture has been thoughtfully preserved, and the accommodations stay true to the historic ambiance while offering modern amenities such as VCRs. Guest room decor ranges from classic to eclectic, and each bedroom offers its own distinctions, such as the two-person Jacuzzi and marble fireplace in the Hemingway. The daily full gourmet breakfast can be taken on the picturesque front porch.
