Don't Do It. We were begged to come inside this restaurant from the street by a nice woman. While inside we ordered a light lunch... little did we know how "light" it would be. For $9.95 we got the lobster ravioli appetizer. (And... yes, Mr Waiter, we are not stupid we know we ordered an appetizer.) The large plate arrived with one smallish ravioli in the middle surrounded by a plate of sauce. We are usually not rude, but we kind of chuckled out loud from the surprise of how ridiculous the ravioli looked in the sea of sauce. We followed the appetizer sample with oen of our often ordered favorite dishes, French onion soup. It arrived and was ample in portion but it smelled burnt ( I think instead on putting it under a broiler it had been torched like a creme brulee.) It lacked flavor other than the burning undertones and it had sliced Swiss on top and soggy white bread, not crusty french. We didn't eat it because the burn smell was too much. I paid for the over-priced under-valued ravioli (singular) and we left smiling at the woman who was still out on the street telling people how this restaurant had been written up in the Washington Post with a great review. My advice, smile and pass this place by.
great food, great ambience not so great whacko lady. This place would get 5 stars if i weren't for the weird lady that stands out front trying to get people into the place. Sat outside once and she wouldn't leave us alone the entire meal! She actually just stood there staring at us when I ignored her... so so very strange - I don't know why they still have her there. The food is so great though! Just sit inside to avoid her..
St. Augustine's Most Romantic Restaurant. Delightful and delicious. Those are the words that I think of with this restaurant. My fiance and I ate there and we both enjoyed our meals. The calamari was the best I've had and our meals were eaten in a lovely romantic outdoor setting. Outdoor and indoor were available but it was a great day so we relaxed outside with a very good bottle of wine. The food was a little pricey but very well worth it.
Small & cozy. Great place to enjoy an upscale meal with romantic atmosphere. Foos not bad either!
