The best Sunday buffet in Jacksonville.
By far one of the top restaurants in Jacksonville! I am a native of 47 years and this is always the place we celebrate the big moments in our families lives.
The Sunday buffet is the best in town and very reasonable - 21.95 for adults. This includes a carving Station with roast and ham, a seafood station with Chilled Shrimp, Crab Legs & Smoked Salmon with bagels and Cream Cheese, a breakfast station with Bacon & Sausage, Home Fries, Grits & Scrambled Eggs with Cheese, Made to Order Omelettes and Belgian Waffles, Muffins & Pastries and excellent eggs benedict, a salad station, a huge assortment of fruits and many assorted Breads. They also have fish and chicken dishes that are incredible. It is a breakfast and lunch (brunch) buffet. In additon they have a variety of deserts.
The view is one of the best in Jacksonville. While you dine you can watch the river traffic either inside or outside where it is more casual. I agree the outside furniture is not very comfortable since it is outside patio furniture but the food and overrall dining experience is well worth it. If you don't like patio furniture sit inside...if you like fresh air sit outside. There is plenty of seating for either.
I have also been to this restaurant for regular dinners and not just the Sunday buffets. The food is reasonably priced and the menu is very good. Everyone at our table of 16 said their food was delicious.
We have been to this restaurant for everthing from birthdays, mother's days, upstairs for wedding receptions and the bar for drinks inside and out. During the summer we have even seen a live band outside in the bar area.
The location is excellent with the Landing across the river (take the water taxi), the Museum of Science and History and Friendship Fountain next door. This is a great Jacksonville spot that is not to be missed!
Check it out yourself and ENJOY!

Stupendous!.
My husband and I are from New York City and are no strangers to great restaurants. We were in Jacksonville for my mother's surgery, not on the best of occasions. We just wanted a nice place to go out one night and happened to see a good review of this restaurant on this site. We were FLOORED by the quality and taste of the food! We both had fish dishes (mine had a crab topping on it that was worth every extra penny they charged). The portions were fairly large and the price was not at all unreasonable. Beautiful view, nice waiter, but the food... oh, the food! From two spoiled NYC foodies, BRAVO!!! We are coming back soon.

uhh..if you havent been then pull your head out of the ground.
I have had consistently good dinners here. CONSISTENT. One time the service was "weird" and some stuff went wrong including bringing out the wrong dish. No problem. I had a free dinner and actually did not have to wait too long. In fact I think there was free dessert as well anyway, point is they more than made up for the one bad thing that has happened to me there.
The restaurant is downtown on the water on the southbank with the best view of downtown anywhere in the city. The location is even better than the Ruth's Chris down the way, and offers outdoor seating which in Jacksonville is available of course all throughout the year no problem. The seafood is arguably the best in town. I have yet to have a bad dish (I just go for the seafood every time, and they are known for their seafood). This restaurant offers two floors, a separate bar, and outdoor seating. You cannot beat this place. You can even take the water taxi to this restaurant. Desserts are very good as well. Definitely one of my favorites that I try to reserve for special occasions. It is my motivation to make for special occasions like no other though. Look for every excuse to come here.
