Okay Sushi for Jacksonville Standards. I had the sushi here, but they are have what seems to be popular in Jacksonville-the restaurant that combines Hibachi grill and a sushi bar. We sat in a booth, one of four, as the other seating options were around the bar or at the Hibachi tables. Because I am from New York City, I have a bit of spoiledness to my palate, but basically the sushi worse than any subpar sushi restaurant in New York. To Jacksonville standards, the sushi was okay. The fish was not very fresh, they use the parts that real Japanese sushi chefs would consider leftovers and throw away. This includes the red part of the yellow tail, or the boney parts of the eel. The seaweed is ordinary, not very refined, and the rice is not too flavorful, but again okay considering it is not exactly in a food capital of the world. The service, however, was great. Very attentive waiter. My boyfriend had the hibachi which was better than the popular chain Wasabi in St. John's Town Center, he told me.

Okay for a quick bite. If you're a sushi-holic and you KNOW good sushi, I wouldn't bother... It's clean, cheap and the service was good but it was a bit too Americanized for the real Sushi experience (i.e. big round Walmart plates and cream saucers for the soy) and the sushi itself was bland and unoriginal, but not aweful. If I were to recommend this to anyone, it would be to that person who had never tried Sushi before and was just curious if they liked raw fish with rice but didn't want to spend much on the venture...

neat atmosphere. I love eating there for lunch. They do have a good sushi. Irecommend sitting at the bar and you can watch them make your dinner. It has a really good atmosphere.

Not Impressive.. I've tried Sushi Rock twice, and just wasn't very impressed with the sushi at all. I won't bother going back, especially since it can be quite a challenge to find parking there.
