Perfect for a weekday lunch. My dining partner and I visited Pastiche for a weekday lunch and despite sitting on the patio (our choice) on a stifling July day, it was perhaps one of the best lunches I've had. Favorites included a hearty, cream-based crab soup, sweet potato fries and goat cheese salad. Pastiche's decor is casual, while still unique and interesting. Wait staff is polite and efficient. We can't wait to return for dinner!
excellent dining destination. excellent chef owned restaurant. menu is creative and well executed. extensive winelist with better than average value. dining options are inside the small quiet dining room or out in the covered botanical garden. the several evenings we were there the restaurant was busy but still quiet and relaxing, not noisy and bustling as some. service very good as well. one of the best in jax
Awnings and blooming flower boxes give this gourmet pantry a seashore feel. Soups and salads make a lunch a splash..
The Scene
Susannah's began as a gourmet grocery and take-out shop, but owner Susannah Sands gradually replaced many of her shelves with dining tables. Most of the seating is outside on a Cape Cod-like deck covered with red and white awnings, and decorated with lots of twinkling lights, ivy and fresh flowers. This al fresco setting has a sophisticated charm that matches Susannah's upscale, eclectic menu.
The Food
TEXT Inside the pantry are cases of tempting entrees and sides as well as exotic cheeses and baked goods. The roasted chicken sandwich, dressed with Stilton, bacon, lettuce, tomato, Dijon mustard and lemon mayonnaise on sourdough bread, is anything but ordinary. Sunday Brunch features a duck club with pesto, nutmeg praline French toast and omelets.
Dish to Die For
Salad nicoise.
