Most friendly hostess in Tallahassee. We visit Tallahassee about twice a month as we have a son at FSU. We always eat at Crystal River on Monroe Street. They have a wonderful hostess, tall, blond, always smiling. She remembers us each time we come. I have diabetes and have trouble ordering, she recommends something great each time. The food is the best! We enjoy the atmosphere, the conversations and the food. What better way to end a long weekend? I recommend you visit, and taste the salmon. They have wonderful seafood dip and pie.

Don't order to go.... After hearing great reviews, my wife and I decided to try Crystal River. We were sorely dissapointed. We called to get directions, and after being hung up on the first time around, we were finally able to be told how to find this place. When we arrived, we were helped by a not-so-knowledgable cashier, and placed our order. While waiting for our to-go order, we watched as plates piled high with food were brought out to patrons. Upon recieving our order, which seemed a bit high-priced, we get home to find about half the food in the boxes that we saw on the plates. Personally, if I pay the same amount as someone sitting down to eat, I expect to recieve the same amount of food. I know I feel cheated, and my wife and I will NOT be returning.

Friendly service. My husband & I have eaten here several times and there has always been fast, friendly service with great food. On the occasions where I've had fried food, it always tastes light and crisp. Broiled platters have always been cooked thoroughly and flavorful.
