Best Italian Dinner experience in the City of Jacksonville. This a Very Romantic and Cozy Italian Restaurant. It is small but not crowded feeling. The food portions are very generous. It is a nice break from the trendy scene. Food Quality is worth every penny and although some may consider this place expensive or moderately expensive--I would pay even more for food this good !! The atmosphere is just wonderful ! I love the fireplaces. It is rather dark and intimate interior with surrounding families having a good time as well. Not deafly Quiet like a library but not ridiculously Loud either. If I were a millionaire--this is where I would go every weekend. I am not a millionaire so I will enjoy each and every chance I get to go here. Great Job Chef Luciano Russo !! I cant wait to come back there again !! I reccommend this place to all my Family and Friends.
Outstanding Experience. I dont normally do a lot of reviews, but in this case I must. What a great experience. The food was superb and the service is second to none. I highly recommend Sorrento's for a special day or just a nice night out. You wont find much better in Jacksonville.
Delicious Italian fare served in a warm and friendly Mediterranean-style atmosphere..
The Scene
With peach-toned walls, linen-covered tables and a huge wine rack filled with fine European selections, Sorrento's feels more like a true Italian bistro than just another Jacksonville restaurant. Several small rooms are cozy and welcoming, add gentle music in the background, and it's easy to feel at home among the couples or families at the next table.
Food
Enjoy common Italian dishes prepared in a wonderfully uncommon way. Fork-tender veal Marsala, covered with fresh mushrooms and sweet onions, is comforting. Meaty lamb chops smothered in red bell peppers, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and olives is a work of art. A light marinara with capers and olives is too hearty for grilled salmon, but pairs well with grouper. Most entr?es come with a crisp salad and a side of pasta. Wrap up the evening with a refreshing spumoni or creamy cheesecake and a cup of frothy cappuccino.
THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN JAX. I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PATRONS WHEN LUCIANO OPENED HIS DOORS IN 1985 AND WAS A REGULAR UNTIL I RELOCATED HOME TO CHICAGO. SORRENTO'S WAS AND IS THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN JAX. MY PARENTS WERE BORN IN ITALY AND WHEN THEY CAME TO VISIT, THEIR STAY WASN'T COMPLETE WITHOUT A DINNER AT SORRENTO'S. I DO MISS THE COZINESS OF THE ORIGINAL WHICH, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, HAD 6 BOOTHS AND ABOUT 5 TABLES AND I COULD SPEAK ITALIAN TO LUCIANO AND REQUEST PAVAROTI AND GAZE AT SOPHIA LOREN'S PICTURE.BUON APPETITO A TUTTI!
Romantic and Yum!. This is my favorite place in Jax. It has the BEST food and a wonderful Italian atmosphere. You won't know it from the outside of the building...but this is (in my opinion) really the BEST resteraunt in Jacksonville.
