Great food- small palce and getting smaller portions. i love this place, i'm having my reception there. We go about evey other friday night and we've noticed a very noticable decrease in portions. I always took some home so i'm ok with it, but others we know have stop going becasue they are still hungry when they leave. So i don't know i hope things change because i really love this place
WE LOVE THIS PLACE. NEVER A DISAPPONTMENT!. i am a self-proclaimed foodie who hands out as many 1 stars as 5 stars (the public need not spend money on junk). My only hesitation about writing this review is that it may cause a crowd at the door on my next few visits. It is one of those places you would like to keep as your own secret. It is that good. We love the antipasto for two as an appetizer. We have had several different dishes here and never a dissapointment. This is a family - run place and they take their food making as seriously as I do - A VERY GOOD THING ( I am the primary cook at home ). My last trip was highlighted by the Shrimp Diablo - a huge spciy plate of perfectly cooked very large shrimp on a beautiful bed of pasta. I have had many other dishes and all were winners. The sausage and peppers are excellent. I remember clearly my very first dish here: the pasta combo plate. I always like trying this first time at a new Italian place, because it is VERY rare that there is a distinguishable difference in the pasta & sauce textures and sauce flavors. Usually the kitchen is using one sauce source and does not respect the need for the flavor & texture differences. They do it very right here. This is not quite a white- linen place, but you will be asked (with sincerity) if you enjoyed the food. Do not be surprised to have that person be the Chef. I could not finish this without mentioning the home-made canolli, which borders on illegal. You want to take at least 6 home when you are half-way through the canolli. (Again, I regret that this may cause a canolli shortage on our next few visits. For Pete;s sake, leave two for us!) You will feel like you visited a long lost family friend.
Pizza. The best pizza I have EVER had. Not usually a fan of hard crust but this pizza is great
best family Italian restaurant in Jax. Superb selection of Italian food; wonderful veal dishes; par execellent pizza; full bar; attentive service
