An East African theme runs through this 20-acre zoo, where more than 800 animals live, including lions, rhinoceroses, meerkats, giraffes, zebras, jaguars, chimpanzees and an African elephant from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch.

Features
Two silverback gorillas play in the great apes of the world exhibit, 75 species of birds fly freely in the birds of the Rift Valley aviary and the Mahali Pa Simba (place of the lions) features a family of golden lions. For a hands-on experience, follow the Trout River Pier to the animal petting area. Walking the African safari can be hard on your feet--take a train ride instead. And, if the kiddies want a giant lion for their next pet, stop by Okayango Village where you can pick up a stuffed version in the gift shop.
