best food in town for your buck. the food is great and service with a smile is always good so if you want a great meal for a great price i recommend this to be your first stop

Exceeds expectations ..... I've dined here twice and on both trips the meal exceeded my expectations. On my first trip, I expected a TGIF or Applebee's type fair. I was presently surprised when I saw fish in a foil bag. I was even more surprised when it came out well prepared.

Beer specials are great. Excellent place to grab a quick lunch or dinner.

Not very good, 3 out of 4 times. The last 2 times going, we left 1/2 our meal. I had the fish sandwich-Awful. My husband had oysters and felt sick afterwards and our friend had a burger and fries. The fries were not cooked. Maybe there was a new cook. But 3 out of 4 were fair at best. The one time it was ok and server was good.

Best value for the money!. Be prepared to bring leftovers home. My husband & I have dined here on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience. The only entree I did not care for was the shrimp scampi (I've given it two tries, both times it was missing flavor). I've stopped by for carryout and they were very prompt. Great place to socialize, and it's really fun during football season!

Not Chinese!. This is not a Chinese restaurant. It has a pool tables, and some game machines, stays open late, and has excellent drink specials on a regular basis.

Varied menu items at reasonable prices. Normally, it is crowded.

From a Regular..... This is the one restaurant where I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience. My husband and I dine regularly at this establishment as they serve late and the quality of the food is always superior. They have most major sporting events and the service is great. The Ale House offers great lunch specials, too. Not fancy, but one of the best of Jacksonville on any day, at any time.
