Matt's is the BEST!. I am not surprised that the New Yorkers found Matt's service and food a bit underneath their stuffy experience.

and I agree Matt's had a few employees which were better suited for a sports bar than a family restaurant.

There is a NEW Matt's on the northside of Jacksonville which IS the BEST I EVER ATE. The Chicken Piccatta or Chicken Florentine is AWESOME! The waitresses are wine-savy and the atmosphere is great! My kids love the calzones (HUGE).

Give the new Matt's a try. I will be going there this Friday.

Just off of hwy 9A and the Alta Road exit.

Worst service and food. This restaurant was recommend to us when we moved from New York to Jacksonville as the best Italian restaurant, boy were they ever wrong. The food was awful - sauce tasted like it came out of a jar (and not a good brand) And the service was AWFUL!!! Literally our waitress came to take our order when she was on her cell phone, she told the person to wait as she listened to our order (never wrote it down) and then of course forgot things. By the time she dropped off our order she went back to being on the cell phone. I could not believe it. We never went back again!! Such a disappointment!!
