A Taste of Italy. I've lived in Italy for a military tour and I wanted to stay there because the food was so good.... when I came back to Mayport Fl, Olive Garden and Carabbas just didn't compare.... But when I found Mario's it was the best thing ever.... It remiinds me so much of sitting in Tuscany and La Maddalena enjoying my favorite Italian meals. It is a Major Must Have!

Love everthing in the place. I love the pizza, best in town. They don't skimp on the toppings. The Sandwiches are so full you can't pick them up, make sure the server gives you lots of napkins...LOL The bread and rolls are made at the restaurant. Everything is fresh and the highest quality. We go at least once a week. You don't want to miss this gem

No dought the best Italian food around!. I don't usually write reviews, but a friend of mine that I suggested this to, told me he went online and read a few bad reviews about the place. I figured I HAD to write one for this. I have been going to Marios now for about 5 years. I was in the military and lived in Italy for 4 years so I know what authentic Italian food is. I must say, this is the REAL DEAL! Upon walking in everyone says hi and they are pretty friendly and prompt on service. They offer you bruschetta right away, whether you are taking out or eating in and if you have to wait for a table they give it to you again when you get to the table! The pizza is thin crust, not to heavy on the toppings, and usually cooked to perfection (a little well done and firm) and the owner does get back there and make pizza fairly regular which is nice to see. As for the entrees, bar none, the best and most authentic anywhere around. You can taste that everything is made from scratch and not over seasoned like most Italian restaurants around here. My personal favorite is Veal Parmesan. Lightly breaded and pan fried with a side of spaghetti marinara. Its exceptional! I STRONGLY suggest Marios to anyone who is looking for great Pizza OR if you are looking for real homemade Italian food.

What happened?. This USED to be our favorite pizza. Stuffed Spinach pie; well worth the $30. Tonight, the bottom was burned and the pie was greasy. It looked like each slice was cooked individually; the pizza was actually divided into 2 boxes. It looked like they put individual slices together to make a whole pizza. (maybe left over from lunch? It sure tasted that way)

When I called back, the cook said the pizza was "too big to fit into one box" and he "checked the bottom and it wasnt burned". I said that each slice had slits in it; they had never cooked like that before (I even have slices in my freezer to prove it) There was no resolution; they wanted me to bring the pizza back and show them. Fortunately, the dog wasnt as finicky and finished my slice off my plate. I guess the rest is going in the garbage. I will not waste money here again. At least Pizza Hut tries to satisfy customers.

Don't even bother. $15 bucks for pasta from a box and cheese from a can? You can't even grate REAL cheese?!?! You're joking. It's a shame because the place is really nice. And you'll get nothing but a snotty attitude from the bald, white, foreign guy. Never, ever go here.

Mario's at the Beach Sucks. We sat down at a recently bussed but not "wiped-down" table. There was food debris from the last set of diners before us to which the waiter promptly set down hot pizza roll dough in a plate on top of. After blurting out the daily specials in broken English, we placed our order. Very simple, one spaghetti and meatsauce, chicken parmesan, and two side salads with bleu cheese. We waitied and waited and waited some more. After 15 minutes, the cook (maybe the owner/manager?) pops out of the back kitchen and refills our drinks because the waiter had neglected too. Five minutes more go by and we are presented with another set of diner's entree's. After picking them up and delivering them to another table, they finally present our entree's. We canceled the salad order at that point (I guess the waiter forgot to bring them cause he was soooo busy with 2 other tables), and proceeded to eat. While the flavor might have been really good, the sauce was watered down on both dishes and as my mother began to eat hers, a large cut of carrot popped out on her fork. I understand how carrots are you used in sauce but this was just disgusting. I won't even mention how long it took to get the check. I recommend that anyone wishing to eat here, to bring their own cleaning supplies, be prepared to wait a long time, and be prepared to ask for the cook to come wait the table (He gave much better service). I will never eat here again. What a joke. The whole experience beckons the word "slophouse" into my mind.

Best Value and Quality at the Beach. My wife and I have eaten here many times and there is no better place to eat at our beaches. The food is so fresh and delicious. Great prompt service from friendly servers. I wish them all the success in the world. Very fair pricing for such classy food.

Slingshot

The best everything. I always order the Seafood Pescatori. It is not on the menu, it was a special the first time I went there and I have special requested it ever sence. I love love love the breads they serve at the beggining of the meal, and the salads are different and fresh. And the pizza really is the best in Jax!!! Dont pass this place by.

So/so food/terrible service. There are not a lot of great options for good italian in Jax. We tried this and during the week, they were friendly and attentive. But the minute we came back on a Friday and they were busy the service was horrible and they bum rushed us out the door. The food is just ok nothing to write home about. I guess we are back to Carrabas!

Just had veto lasagna. Right now it's a special, but it has to be my favorite dish there. It comes in a shrimp & pink vodka sauce. Truely amazing.
