Horrible! BEWARE! (i used to work there). I warn everyone about this place (because I used to work there) the steak they serve has brown spots in most pieces. The kitchen is very dirty (cockroaches galore) and because the owner is friends with the health inspector it goes un attended to. And the bananas they give come fried because they are rotten. They are Chinese not Japanese...please save yourself the health hazard and avoid matsu all together.

Best japanese steak house in Jax. Matsu is the best Japanese steak house I have ever been. They have the high quality food and service with reasonable price. highly recommend for everyone

the best Japanese restaurant in Jax beach. I went Matsu for my Thanksgiving family dinner. The food was so fresh and the service was excellent. I like the Matsu roll, Spicy tuna roll,Jax beach roll. My son's favorite dessert is the fried cheese cake. Vote No. 1 Japanese restaurant in Jax Beach. I will go again and never visit other Japanese restaurant in Jax beach.

Excellent service and food. Matsu has the best sushi and Japanese food in town. The management helps us to create a wonderful wedding there. Definitely will visit again!!

Great Everything!. I have been going to Matsu for 8+ years, never ever had bad service, we are actually treated like family when we walk through the door. The food is excellent, good prices for lots of food, tastes great, looks great. the sushi is made to order etc etc...

I have been to the other establishments at the beach and had to run to the restroom as soon as i took the last bite!

Don't use your credit card. The food is so so, but beware, they like to overcharge your credit card. First time it happened, it was only a dollar or so over, like someone gave themselves an extra tip, Second time, it was over a hundred dollars over, with a $10 dollar order. Watch your bank statement after dining here.

terrible place. Very bad service. The cashier/hostess was extremely rude to me when I asked for a breakdown of charges on my take-out. She charged me a different price than what was published, added an extra $0.75. The terrible service left a bitter taste in my mouth.... avoid this place. This really isn't Japanese food. The prices are sky-high, including Coke. There's too many wonderful Japanese steakhouses in beach area (Chizu, Ichiban) to put yourself through this. Would not return for round 2.

horrible food. The food was horrible and tasted like it was 3 days old. Over priced food, the service was slow and unprofessional and unfriendly. Horrible food (both sushi and grill), crappy environment (sushi bar, grill table, restroom...), the restroom no tissue, soap, snippy wait staff. Nothing Japanese about the place only the name. My girl friend nearly fainted when the tempura dish came complte with a dead spider in it, the manager would't even give us our money back. I've had a better meal at Publix. Matsu is a worst Japanese restaurant in Jacksonville area.
