This store seems great at the beginning.....until the Sales Associate lets you know the delivery fee.....$265 for 1 bed, 2 night stands, 1 couch and a very small kitchen table with 4 stools. There is no option to pick up your furniture unless you want to drive 4 hours to Lakeland to pick it up OR wait 6-8 weeks to pick it up at the store. You can elect to pay the $265 and have it delivered within 2 days....but it takes 6-8 weeks if you want to pick it up yourself??? It seems that it is their way of gouging $$ out of people. So once I ended up being over the sticker shock of the delivery fee (mind you my house is 7 miles away!), when I received my furniture, the delivery guys seemed to not care about scratching, tearing, and damaging the furniture! Out of the furniture above, the bed was scratched (deep scratches!) in at least 7 places. The Leather sofa that we received was scratched and torn while the guys pushed in through the front door. When I explained that both of those would need to be replaced they said that they didn't notice any damage while putting them together but would mark them as damaged and someone from Customer Service would contact me (more on that in a minute). The Kitchen table arrived in a box, the delivery guys looked at me and asked if they are supposed to put it together....why yes for what we paid, I think that they should put it together! They had to call the store to verify if they were supposed to assemble it. Finally after 20 minutes they decided that they needed to put it together.
Keep in mind regarding the delivery that they have 2 options, Express delivery in which you must sit at your house from 7am until 7pm and wait for your furniture to be delivered. They will not give you a time as to when your furniture will arrive, they call the express delivery a courtesy. The other option is regular delivery which it will be delivered within 4-5 days.....you must call an 800# the night before delivery and they will give you a 4 hour window on when you need to be home. I was instructed by the Sales Associate that we needed to be home at least an hour before and after the specified time frame.....I guess I'm confused because I thought that they gave you a 4 hour window for a reason? I tried to call the 800# 4 different times the day before at different times during the day. Two times I waited on hold for over 15 minutes waiting to speak to someone and two times the line was busy.
I went into the store 2 days after the furniture had been delivered and explained that I had not received a call to replace the damaged furniture. The salesperson, in a rude tone said, "It is your responsibility to contact Customer Service, not mine." I said, "The delivery guys said someone would call?" He said, "No, you need to call because sometimes it gets lost in the cloud when they send it electronically." Um....hello? Did this guy "Bucky" not just make commission off of us for this purchase? Needless to say the Store Manger ended up calling Customer Service to make sure that they had received the damage status. Let's just say that I'm still waiting on my phone call to see when my new undamaged furniture will be arriving.
On a side note, please keep in mind that they will charge you $50 to deliver one small end table....which is why there is a 6-8 week wait to pick up furniture from them. They only receive furniture for customer pickup from the Lakeland store once every few weeks....seems like a good way to make customers spend some extra $$ if they need furniture on the quick and aren't allowed the option to quickly pick it up themselves without driving for 4 hours.
I'm pretty disgusted at the way they handle business.
