Won't return..... The first time we went to Joe's was 10 years ago for our daughter's 21st birthday. I remember it as being just okay. We stopped in yesterday for appetizers and was really disappointed. The Garlicky Mussels were overcooked, not garlicky at all and the broth was straight up salt. When I dont eat all the Mussels, there is clearly something wrong there. The Fried Calamari was tasteless and was probably frozen for a long period of time before being overcooked. BLEH. The Crab Dip had potential, although very rich, it was so salty that I only had a couple of bites. My husband's beer was good although we were told that Blue Moon was available, only for the waitress to come back and say they were out, so he went to plan B. The oceanfront location is the only thing going for the place in my opinion.I should have known better as I am really not a "chain" person when it comes to restaurants. Safe Harbor in Mayport has much better seafood and you can purchase just about anything there to cook at home if you wish. Oh, I was amazed at how many boards were loose with nails sticking up as we walked in/out of the restaurant! My husband tripped on the way out.

I will be generous and give it 1 star for oceanfront only.

Goodbye Joe's....

HANDS DOWN, THE WORST RESTAURANT I'VE EVER BEEN TO. DO NOT EAT HERE. Everything about this restauraunt is bad in every way.

Where the Shack is always Shacking. From the music pumping along the boardwalk all the way to the door, Joe's leads up to its name. The service is amazing, the management staff is friendly, and the food is something to remember, The menu is very diverse, offering a wide selection for everyone, not only the seafood lover. Joe's has great drinks too, the Shark Bite is as the server said " an adult happy meal with a straw". I would recommend Joes crab shack to anyone that just wants to sit back, enjoy the music, the staff and a fun time.

A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones.. In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

Casual beachy atmosphere. Super fun for groups, families, couples, anybody! Outdoor bar and playground with ocean view, so the fun starts before you even sit down. The crab legs are awesome! It is a fun casual place. Our family of 5 always has a blast. A great place to take out-of-town guests for great local flavor. Right on the beach...you can stroll down to the ocean after a great seafood dinner.

Best Seafood, Great Service. This Place is Great! On the beach dining at great, not stuffy prices. You can wear your flip flops and shorts come in for a nice dinner, it is so versitile. The inside is great, staff is wonderful and I have always been visited by a manager, wondering if my dinner was good. My child loves it, the accents are great. Very clean Restrooms (which is so important). They have lots to choose from. You can get anything from crab legs, different types of fish, pasta, hamburgers, well made salads, fried platters, broiled platters, chicken sandwiches, great appetizers and wonderful drinks. They also have drinks that come in cups, glasses, shakers that you can take with you. ALso, the clothing retail is awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT!

Excellent All Around. From The seating, to the food and from the service, We had a great time and had wonderful food. The Staff was intent on making us happy and our daughter had a great time. I Say Try It, You Will Like It.
