Families and large groups feast on hearty cuts and comfort food at this Rocky-Mountain style steakhouse..
In Short
Lots of mahogany, tin ceilings, metal crown molding and Arts and Crafts-style décor prevail at this casual, comfortable saloon, part of media mogul Ted Turner's domain. Beef and bison are king, and they're hand-cut on site. Other bites include beer-can chicken, bison prime rib and cedar planked salmon. For dessert, there's home-made cookies, Kahlua fudge brownies, Coke floats and strawberry shortcake.
Ted's Montana Grill. They have fabulous hamburgers, especially that Ve-ah-ho burger (something like that), with carmelized onions and Monteray Jack cheese melted over it...mmm. I think it had mushrooms too. So good!
The bison is great. I have never had bison until I went to Ted's Montana Grill. What a pleasant surpise. The bison tasted just like beef and it wasn't gamy. The food is good and the atmosphere is great. A must try for everyone.
Always Interesting. If you like Bison this is the place. If you don't you ought to try the roast. It tastes very much like beef. If that doesn't work for you Ted's does serve some excellent beef entrees. Service is generally friendly and prompt. Our only concern is that food preparation is not consistent. Sometimes a steak comes rare, as ordered, and sometimes must be returned to the kitchen. It is almost impossible that all four members of our family ever receive all of our food warm, so someone sends it back to be heated and we never complete a meal together. It is also the coldest place I have ever been anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line. We can never eat their spontaneously unless we just happen to have coats or sweaters in the car. Still we go back. For the quality and price, Ted's is never crowded and that is important for us.
