Best Salon in Fleming Island....Amazing work, fair prices....beautiful salon....

by mickeya7676 at Citysearch

Amazing....Honey is fabulous...I have naturally curly hair and have never had someone quite as sweet and willing to work with me as she is....The salon is beautiful, looks like it is something out of a Europe....I have lived in Europe so needless to say, i have seen tons of salons...this is as good if not better. The entire staff is friendly....The prices are fair....The owner is a mom and husband team...He works fulltime as a doctor and she is a fulltime mom. They make time to come to the salon...and are very friendly and kind...he does anti aging beautification procedures...She is sweet and very kind...I am surprised anyone had a bad experience here...they must have been negative to begin with....I have walked in on a off day just to say hello to honey and they are busy....they still take the time to say hello...now if you walk in and walk by them, maybe they give you a moment to browse at the products....I hate being stalked when I walk in a salon or store....YOU need to try it......

  • Pros: great location...fair prices...

Amazing Staff in Fleming Island

by hellooutthere at Citysearch

Ok let me just start by saying that i have been going to this salon for nearly three years. I had moved to this area and knew nothing about anything. i was very scared to go to a new salon because i had used my previous salon for many years before moving and didnt want my hair messed up. So i began to ask around, when i saw someones hair i liked i asked where they had it done. i would say 9 times out of ten they said Jon RIc Salon in Fleming Island. I found this to be outstanding since they are so many salons around here. I called and was given to a stylist named Tasha who i think is also the lead stylist. So i went and let me just tell you. I was offered a drink as soon as i walked in and asked if i wanted a magazine. I had gone in early so i could watch the stylist before hand. i sat close enough that i could actually hear her conversation with her client before me. She was very respectful and really asked her questions about her lifestyle. By the time my turn came i was very at ease and ready. She understood my being nervous and even offered to call my old stylist and talk to her if i wanted her to. Once i had unburdened myself with all the details (that i had wrote down ...lol) as to how i liked my hair. She smiled and said them all back to me, so i know she had listened to everything. She matched my color perfectly and my highlights were bright and beautiful. The best part was the hair cut...it was great. when i was done i wanted to cry, my hair was perfect. Just like with the previous client she explained if i had any questions or needed anything to make sure i called. It was a great experience. the reason i am writing this is because i had read the previous comments and felt that it is a shame that most the time we dont take the time to write when we have a great experience somewhere, but are quick to write one if we are mad. i dont disregard the other comments but like i said i have been going here a while and have never been disappointed.

  • Pros: Great stylists, everyone there is like a big family, which makes it very relaxing, no tension
  • Cons: there prices are in the mid range........ but worth it!!!

Worse Customer Service

by superstara99 at Citysearch

The worst salon I've ever been to. I've moved around a lot in my life and have had my share of experiencing services at various salons. Jon Ric is by far the worst!!! To begin with, when you first walk in, the girls (and I mean "GIRLS" not ladies) at the front desk are rude. I was the only one who walked in and they were too busy talking amongst themselves to check me in. Only after I interrupted them did they check me in. The stylist was okay. Then when I was done and ready to pay, again the two girls at the front desk were just chatting away. I interrupted them again to let them know I was ready to pay. One girl had the nerve to roll her eyes at me and check me out. It was only after being in this Fleming Island area for a bit and talking to neighbors and friends that I find out this is normal service for this salon. The owner, I guess doesn't care. And apparently their stylists come and go b/c they can't stand it there either. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. When you go to get your hair done, or a mani-pedi or facial -- you want to be treated with respect and even spoiled. You're there to pamper yourself and feel good -- not to be treated so rudely.

  • Pros: Decor is decent. Parking is always plenty in the huge Publix shopping lot.
  • Cons: HORRIBLE customer service.

Beware of working here.

by Kellieeee at Citysearch

Yeah, I am not sure how these people treat their clients, but they do not treat people seeking employment very well. I came here for an interview and was told I was hired. However, the day I was supposed to start, the manager calls and asks if I'm still interested in working for the salon... umm, ok? So, I was hired for an assistant position. However, when I go in, I am being trained to be a receptionist (they could use a new one... the current one seems to be a mess). So, I work there for a couple of hours and after that, the receptionist says "Don't worry about coming in tomorrow, Judy (manager) will call you when she needs you to come back". I wonder if you can guess, I never got a phone call and was sent a check for a whopping 14 dollars a couple of days later. A friend of mine shares an extremely similar experience at this salon, so apparently its not just a one time thing. I don't know, maybe it was my tattoos they didn't like. Point being, if you're seeking employment here, beware. Also, their prices are a bit over the top because I didn't see any spectacular hair being done the two hours I was there.

  • Pros: Nice location
  • Cons: Everything else.
