A Coin. Do not waste your gas, time or energy on A Coin & Stamp Gallery. These gentlemen will pay you a cent for any coins without bothering to check out the real value. Instead check out Buried Treasures on Fox T.V. every Wednesday night 8:00pm. The KENO Brothers NYC, the experts in gold, stamps, coins, vases, hidden treasures in your home will pay you the actual value of your items. Worth the trip. Do not short changed your treasures for these two self centered owners.
I shopped around. I found the service to be first class and informative on the coins and stamps that I had to sell. Took the time to talk to me and discuss the items I had to sell and offered more money than the other shops that I visited, all in all a great experience and I would go back and highly reccommend them to my family and friends
who knew gold would be worth so much.
A-Coin is a pleasure to do business with. I knew gold was worth a lot, but wow.
I wanted to know how they figured out how much the coins were worth. He was too busy to go through it with me when I first went in and he just offered me a price. There were several people behind me in line, so he invited me to come back later and he could spend more time explaining how he values stuff. I went back in the afternoon and he explained how purity and rarity effect value and so forth, and i got a nice lesson on coins.
I decided not to sell my coins because they were not rare, only worth the gold, but who knows, with gold where it is i may go back.
Overall, the owner Bill ended up being a nice guy, I would recommend him.
Very Low Class Establishment. This so-called "high-end" establishment is run by low class individuals. They purchase luxury watches there so I went in to inquire about selling a luxury watch I paid $8,000 for 2 years ago. The "gentleman" I was interacting with was a rude, pompous, condescending man trying very hard to act "high-end" when he was clearly low class. Somebody should inform him and the other people who work there that truly high-end establishments treat you well. He, on the other hand, was little more than a polished up used car salesman. If he did not believe my watch was worth what I was asking, or did not want to purchase my watch, there was a right way to go about saying so, and a wrong way. The right way may have brought me back into the store on another occasion. The wrong way guaranteed that I never return to the store, or recommend it to anyone. It is a low class establishment run by low class men trying too hard to be "high-end." Incidentally, is it just me or do the positive reviews here sound manufactured? It wouldn't surprise me. Before you enter into this store, consider visiting a store that may actually appreciate your business and treat you respectfully.
Honest, Reliable Dealer-gave best quote on my jewelry items. They really do pay more.
Great Shop. I do not agree with the guy writing the negative review. I suspect he thought his stuff was worth more than it was. I would rather shop at a place that tells you the truth - they can't quote over the phone silver bullion goes up and down - anyone telling you a price on the phone wont give it to you if it goes down before you get there. I have bought Diamonds including the diamond in my engagment ring was bought there, watches and other jewerly and at great prices. I have sent and taken friends there and they too recieved great prices on their diamonds. By the way anyone thinking used diamond in your engagement ring is just wrong then I have a real news flash for you. Diamonds are recycled and yes even engagement rings bought at the Expensive Jewerly stores at the mall have recycled diamonds they just dont tell you. If you want glitter and glam and you want to pay a lot more for the same thing go to the mall me I will continue going where I get a lot more for the money because I would rather wear the glitter and glam!
Best prices anywhere. I completely disagree with the below description of A-coin I found the proprietor to be very knowledgable and quite helpfull. I recently came into a large inheritance of very rare and special coins. I shopped every purveyor in the area and even went to Orlando for a buyer. I received much more than I had hoped for and much more than any other dealer had offered.
Bonehead. Definitely avoid..
Have you ever walked into a scummy little pawn shop or auto mechanic shop, run by some seedy hillbilly smoking behind a dirty counter, and you just know you're in a place where the only reason these people pay rent and maintain a business license is so they can screw people as often as possible?
I called in earlier to get a price quote for silver bullion. Mind you, *every single other* coin shop I called was able to quote me an instant spot price/sale price ratio. Like, immediately.
This bonehead?
"We don't quote prices over the phone. If you're here in front of me and want to buy and sell, we can talk prices".
What the hell? That was easily the most retarded thing I've heard all year. This guy either has the IQ of a kumquat or is just impossible to deal with for the sport of it.
Either way, given the other coin shops in Jacksonville that are much easier to deal with (and staffed by people who aren't mentally retarded) my experiences suggest that there are far better places to spend your money in River City.
