St. John's seafood is a place that has the feeling of family. You can tell that the wait staff is familiar with regulars and makes them feel at home. The food is great and the service is as well. It is a nice place to get that seafood meal fix.

If it Wednesday it is AYCE Crab night - Don't miss it!

Overall the is a terrific seafood restaurant. Mahi is great. Shrimp are terrific. Oysters are always fresh. Side dishes are great. Love the creamy cheese grits and southern style green beans. But we eat at Sam's on Wednesday's when they bring crab legs to your table until you are ready to burst. Served with authentic butter melted to perfection, it is gourmet heavan. Servers are the best in Jacksonville. Everyone is happy, and they treat you like a favorite relative popping in for dinner. Just plan to take off from work early and arrive at 5:00; otherwise you will be stuck waiting in line.

Delicious Fresh Seafood with excelent service!!!

YOU CAN TELL IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD BY THE LINE OUT THE FRONT DOOR. BUT DON'T LET IT FOOL YOU, THEY GET YOU IN QUICKLY!! The service has always been very personable and quick. There's something for everyone. To start off with, I like their Blooming onion. It is a breaded deep fried onion served with a special sauce that is yummy. I personally love the lightly blackened, grilled mahi, salmon, or grouper. They're grilled without drying them out and with a light amount of blackening seasoning and lemon butter. Somethimes I get the fried shrimp and it is delicious also. I think that's what they're known for...their fried food. It is really light, not heavy. They say it's because they fry in peanut oil and bread very lightly. The hush puppies are sweet and have onions in them. They make their cole-slaw home made. Their cheese grits are creamy and very flavorful. Not every time, but when I can I will get a piece of their homemade penut butter pie. Yum-Yum. It's one of my favorite places to eat!

This was my first trip to a real seafood restaurant (red lobster doesn't count) since re-locating to the Jacksonville area. Don't get me wrong, I love seafood and had all my favorite restaurants mapped out in my head when I lived up north. However, I've been a little hesitant to try any since I been here. I must say Sam's has set a very high standard for me as far as seafood restaurants in this area are concerned. The food was great. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. If your looking for a good ole fish fry the seafood combo is for you. Plenty for two? Thats an understatement. In fact the portions for everything we tried were huge. The restaurant is small and cozy with plenty of parking. Even on a Saturday night when the place was packed there was only a 25 minute wait for a table. The service was excellent to say the least. Sounds too good to be true? I'm not finished yet. I was also very impressed by the reasonable prices. Considering the size of the portions, the quality and taste as well as the great service, Sam's is definitely a keeper for me. See you next week Sam!

Great Seafood in Orange Park

This is a wonderful little seafood restaurant located on Highway 17 in Orange Park. It can be very busy, so plan on a small wait before being seated. After being seated, the server is always prompt and polite. We love to get the Plenty for Two platter, although it is really plenty for three. The food is great. My kids love this restaurant, as does the rest of my family!
