Not the Best Mexican I've had but also not the Worst.
by tamdp at Citysearch
The food is usually pretty good when I go, but don't order the broiled fish/shrimp. They cook it until it is all shriveled up & dry. Also, they menu doesn't have enough seafood offerings.
- Pros: The food is relatively cheap.
- Cons: Always very crowded, the restaurant feels/looks dirty.
never dissatisfied!

my family and I love eating at La Napolera and go there whenever we get the chance. the food is great and the price is always within budget. have and will continue to recommend this resturaunt to my friends and family and anyone else i meet for that matter. i must say one thing though and that is that in my opinion the Atlantic Blvd and New Phillips Hwy locations are much better food and ambience wise. :)
Avoid at all costs

This place is definitely over-rated by people with ignorant conceptions of what good mexican food should be like. The food is bland and tastes canned and/or not fresh. Both the steak and chicken were over cooked, rubbery, and dry. The tortillas were flavorless, dry, and crumbled easy. It reminds me of public elementary school cafeteria food from the 80s.
The dining area is an amalgam of kitsch that looks like Big Lot's interpretation of Mexico. The bathrooms resemble that of a truck stop gas station. The whole place is not exactly "clean".
It may be cheap, but I don't care how drunk you might be, nothing can make this place worth going to.
- Pros: None. For the same money you can get better mexican food almost anywhere else.
- Cons: Food is terrible, the place is kinda dirty and trashy, service isn't very fast.
If you liked chewing copy paper and glue as a kid, you will love this place

We passed up on going to one of our favorite Mexican places and instead went to the new location on Phillips and Baymeadows. Our first and last visit. Very noisey. Below average service. And food that had no flavor or texture beyond that of copy paper soaked in Elmer's glue to make paper mache whatevers. I have no idea why this gets more than one star. I would give less if possible
- Pros: none
- Cons: everything
Closest to Mexico that you will find in Jacksonville!

Fantastic Food, Great service, a very authentic mexican feel. The best thing of all is that there is one opening up right next to us on Baymedows and Phillips! I highly recommend any of La Napolera's!
- Pros: Fast Service, Great Food
Best Mexican food in Jacksonville

I'm not sure what La Nap's you people eat at but the one on Beach Blvd. is the best. They do not add 20% on your bill and if they did it would be worth it. They will make you anything you want . Never had a wrong order (EVER). The staff is friendly and efficient. They are the best Mexican restaurant I have found since leaving California.
I'm with poster ckbigel, food not all that.

I moved to jax from chicago two years ago since then I 've being looking for nice mexican restaurant, after trying so many finally try la napolera no difference from any other here in jax.
I love burritos but I mean burritos not what la napolera serves, burritos you should be able to grab it and eat it,not a tortilla with meat swimming in some sauce that couldn't be grabbed.Chicago they really do some awesome mexican foods and they have lots of places where you place orders to go only and the cook it and make right in front of you while you watching, waiting. go out to the west coast or midwest and compare to la napolera then you will say tacobell makes better food than napolera here in jax.
- Cons: not really authentic
Okay food compared to Taco Bell...
by ckbigel at Citysearch
If you've never eaten mexican food any where outside of Florida, then I guess you could say it's the best. But the best compared to what...Taco Bell??? The food is a mediocre attempt at "authentic" mexican food. It is pre-made and don't ask to omit anything in the dis because you will still get the exact menu item. 2 of our 4 orders were incorrect and 1 was forgotten. Stay away from their attempt at "Fried Ice Cream"...HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Do not bother to leave a tip on the table unless you are prepared to pay your bill in cash as they apparently add a whopping 20% tip to your credit card charge, no matter what you put on the receipt. 20%??? They're not THAT good! For real mexican food in the U.S you need to fly to Texas, New Mexico, or California, then come back and review La Nopolera.
- Cons: Pre-Made food, Cannot omit items, Automatic 20% tip?!?!
Great Food

If you like it hot.....They can make you HOT, and if you don't like it hot, well, they can actually cater to people who love mexican, but it doesn't love them, if you know what I mean... great food. Love the taco's & their cheese dip....good stuff!
- Pros: great service, fast service, reasonable
- Cons: , parking
