This is the place to go for a special occasion meal in St. Augustine.

The food is delicious, well prepared and presented. The wait staff is helpful and the wine selection is very good as well.

Excellent service and luxurious room

by BucsFanFL at Citysearch

We decide to elope to St. Augustine and found a fantastic seasonal rate for our stay through the Casa Monica website. The building itself is beautiful inside and out, the staff are courteous and friendly at every opportunity, and the room was well equipped. When stayed in a spacious "premier" room with a four-poster bed, sofa, desk, tv, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. The large bathroom had a walk-in shower, no bath which wasn't noted during the reservation process but that's not an issue for us. Our room was at the far end of the building from the lobby and we had a view over King street towards the square next to the Bridge of Lions. The bed was comfortable, with loads of pillows to choose from. The only drawback to the room is the A/C system - it is really loud * distrubed us both during the night. We didn't have much interaction with staff besides check-in and check-out, there was nothing missing from our room and we had no need to call the front desk or housekeeping during our stay. Perfect! By the way, the $20 valet parking is worth it. The alternative is trying to find curb-side metered parking which was not easy on a weekday, plus you have to feed the meter $3 every two hours. I hgihly recommend the Casa Monica to anyone looking for a hotel in St. Augustine.

  • Pros: Beautiful room & building, well-equipped, nice location
  • Cons: Noisy air conditioning in our room

Great with Groups

We held our Annual Board Retreat at the hotel and made sure we ate at the 95 Cordova. As in the past we had great service, friendly enviroment, and the food was out of this world. They worked with us in serving 26 Board Members. After last years experience they requested we go back.

Thanks!

Showcasing a Spanish invasion in a historic, Florida town.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
This "Moorish Revival Castle" was built in 1888 and restored as a luxury hotel at the turn of the millennium. The red-tiled roof, hand-painted Italian tiles, balconies and Moorish columns push the limit, but the kitsch factor is held at bay by the 138 tasteful and quietly decorated guest rooms. The crowd here tends to be made up of vacationers during the summer months and around Christmastime, with a steady stream of business travelers year-round.

The Details
Wrought-iron beds and mahogany lounge chairs are the kind of furnishings you might find in your room. If you're looking for lodgings fit for royalty, the King and Queen of Spain have slept in the corner tower, a four-story suite with three bedrooms and views of the historic town, bay and ocean. The next-door Lightner Museum, home to the largest collection of Tiffany glass in the world, is among the venues available for social gatherings. Access to the oceanfront Serenata Beach Club is offered for a fee. One of the more unusual aspects of a stay here is the chance to tour St. Augustine in one of the hotel's antique cars.
