Our favorite in Jax!. Have eaten here 4 times - 2 dinners and 2 lunches. I cannot recommend this place enough! It is without a doubt the best restaurant we've been to in town. We don't go out to eat very often, so when we do we want to make it count!

The sandwich and soup combo at lunch is ridiculously amazing - and the homemade chips are worth a whole review on their own!

Only on one visit was the service a little below par; but other visits made up for it in spades.

I highly recommend the Pork Tenderloin for dinner.

And of course their dessert case is very drool worthy.

Looking forward to a visit next month for a birthday celebration!

This is the perfect place to eat and also just to meet up for drinks... The best restaurant hands down. We dine out often and nothing ever compares to the food or service!! Enjoy!!! :)

My favorite restaurant!. Bistro Aix is a nearly perfect restaurant for just about everyone. Whether you are in the mood for a filet mignon or artisanal pizza (or anything in between), there's something great on the menu for you. Chef Tom Gray possesses the skills of a seasoned chef as well as a savvy businessperson, so the menu truly reflects seasonal foods (they just started their fall menu - hello, brussel sprout, my old friend). Also, the restaurant employs a pastry team (kudos), so all the desserts on the menu are made in-house. The servers and bartenders are warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, and will always assist in wine, beer, and drink pairings.

Noisy, but otherwise good. The first thing I noticed when we sat at our table was the noise--and there is lots of it. If you're up for loud music and a room FULL of people trying to talk over it, this is your place because everything else is fabulous. Food is great, priced to match, wine list is extensive, and service is good. But if you're looking for a quiet, romantic table, or a serious business lunch or dinner, you might look elsewhere.

Always something new and delicious. Having lived in New York, it's not often that I find a restaurant outside the city that could be magicially transported to lower Manhattan and fit in flawlessly. Bistro Aix is one of those places. Flavors are interesting and unique and dishes are well-presented. Wait staff could use some polishing and they really should take reservations, but overall, a wonderful place to spend a lunch or dinner. Decor and ambience are cozy yet hip. My dining companion and I did find it a bit odd that they charge for refills of what tastes much like Country Time lemonade, although our server opted not to charge us for it (she must have realized how downscale that is for a restaurant of this caliber). Overall, though, Bistro Aix is one of my favorite Jacksonville restaurants and a place I return to again and again.

Simply the Best in Jacksonville. Top notch food -- menu varies with the season. Professional service, classy decor, fun atmosphere. In a nutshell, stepping into Aix is like leaving Jacksonville behind. It beats any other Jacksonville restaurant for value.

Great for solo dining (sit at the Chef's bar), romantic for two (go later), even okay for culinarily adventurous older kids on special occasions. They also have private dining rooms for groups.

Warning: If you base the merit of a restaurant on being located in a mall and having a huge parking lot, please don't go to Aix.

One of Jacksonville's Best Restaurant. This is easily one of Jacksonville's best restaurants. Extensive menu, delicious food, very good service. Handled our group of 24 with ease. Although the whole restaurant was packed the service was so good that we felt like we were the only ones there. No miss this one if you are in Jax.

A trendy menu draws in the trendiest of crowds at this hip urban restaurant.. The Scene
This swanky place has all the pulse and rhythm of a hipster spot for a boisterous lunch with friends and people-watching. With vaulted copper ceilings, exposed brick, berets on all the kitchen staff and lots of trendy eyewear in the crowd, AIX is happening. It's noisy and energetic and very popular, but reservations aren't accepted.

The Food
The menu has mostly Provencal and Mediterranean dishes such as artisanal breads, hummus, grilled pizzas, risottos and roasted chicken with garlic. You can't go wrong with the roasted tomato soup and lamb with ratatouille. The wine list is extensive and expensive, but this is the kind of restaurant where budgets and waistlines are stretched to accommodate the joie de vivre.

My Favorite!. My husband and I love this restaurant. We bring all of our friends there to try it. The food is wonderful, wine is delicious, servers are superb! Love the filet, the tuna, lobster bisque soup special, and desserts. Worth the money! Try the scampi pizza at lunch and the crab cake salad, both are to die for. Yummmmm!

Good Food and Prices. The portions are huge here. My wife and I each had a small portioned salad and main course. The goat cheese salad was good, but fairly typical. My duck confit salad was tasty. My wife had the risotto with wild mushrooms and shrimp. Very good. I had the Orecchiette with spicy sausage and ricotta salata. Huge portion. I only ate half of it. They have a very good fairly priced wine list. Two salads, two mains, and a $38 bottle of Frogs Leap Merlot, 2000 and the total was around $80. Great price for the quality of food. Only complaints are the noise level and the lack of reservations. We were put on the Preferred Seating List, but still waited nearly 1 hour for a table. Still would go back.
