Ellens needs pay more attention to the order

by skime at Citysearch

Ellen’s is going down hill. This is the second time this week my to go lunch order was messed up. The fries were OLD! The sandwich had a dressing I did not ask for and I did not get the side of dressing I requested and paid for. Was once a favorite but soon to not be if this keeps up.

This restaurant reminds you why you came to Florida.

The Scene
For 40 years, beach dwellers and vacationers alike have loved this bustling little diner that serves up big breakfasts all day long (though typical lunch fare is also available). Look around on a Saturday morning and you'll see folks of every stripe: retirees fresh from walking their dogs on the beach; families with small children asking for pancakes; hungover twentysomethings who seem to be wearing the clothes they had on the night before.

The Food
Think traditional Southern comfort food like grits, chicken-fried steak and big cups of sweet iced tea. The enormous egg plates come with your choice of bacon or sausage, toast or biscuits, and grits or hash browns. The crab cake Benedict is delicious.

Don't Miss this one.

My Granfather use to take me to Ellen's Kitchen when I was a kid 30 years ago. Now I take my kids. Same great food, service and price as it was when my Grandfather paid for it. Don't miss this one.
